On the Surface:

A great example of Ford’s legendary car that “put the world on wheels,” this 1926 Model T Two Seat Runabout is finished in Black with a matching Black soft top and Black leather upholstery. Affectionately known as “Lizzie” by The Vendor.

Maintenance & History:

Imported into the UK in 1999, this Model T has had just two former keepers during its time here and has been in the hands of The Vendor for the past 12 years. The previous custodian, Mr W. G. Faulkner, was notably a past President of the Model T Club of Great Britain, giving this car strong enthusiast provenance. Accompanying the Ford is a substantial history file containing 11 Model T magazines, a 1925 Book of the Ford, a Service Manual, assorted paperwork including MOTs and invoices, as well as period photographs of the car. This Runabout is equipped with a desirable specification that includes a Ruckstell Axle, Rocky Mountain Brakes, Electronic Start, Tonneau cover, and a set of age-related tools. Alongside the car, a few practical spares are included such as a fan belt, plugs, and a distributor cap—useful items for any enthusiast keen to enjoy the car as intended.

The Model:

Produced by Ford between 1908 and 1927, the Model T was the world’s first mass-affordable car, revolutionising personal transport and making motoring accessible to the middle classes. Built using assembly-line production rather than traditional handcrafting, the T became a global success and remains one of the most influential vehicles of all time. In fact, it was named “Car of the Century” in 1999, surpassing icons such as the BMC Mini, Citroën DS, and Volkswagen Beetle.

Sale Insight:

This 1926 Two Seat Runabout offers both usability and charm, backed by a significant history file and enthusiast ownership. With its desirable upgrades, practical spares and provenance linked to the Model T Club of Great Britain, “Lizzie” represents a superb opportunity to acquire a well-cared-for example of Ford’s iconic motorcar.
