Presented in an attractive two-tone Green over matching leather upholstery, this 1961 Rover P4 100 is a good, original-feel example of Rover’s well-regarded mid-size luxury saloon.
Registered in 1961, this Rover P4 100 has been in the care of its current registered keeper for the last two years. The car is accompanied by a useful history file that includes a selection of old MOT certificates, maintenance invoices and a Rover P4 workshop manual.
The Rover P4 series was produced from 1949 to 1964, with the 100 variant introduced in 1959 as a replacement for the 90 and 105. Designed by Gordon Bashford, the 100 was powered by a 2.6-litre IOE straight-six engine—a short-stroke version of the P5’s 3-litre unit—delivering refined performance and capable of reaching 100 mph. Standard equipment included front disc brakes with servo assistance, overdrive on top gear and a heater. The interior was notably luxurious for the period, combining leather upholstery and wood trim in true British fashion.
With just 16,521 examples produced before the model's end in 1962, the Rover P4 100 remains a sought-after classic for enthusiasts of post-war British saloon cars.
