In the current ownership for the past 25 years, The Vendor purchased the car in 2000 for £14,850. With just three former keepers prior, this example has enjoyed long-term custodianship and comes with a detailed history file including numerous invoices, historic MOT certificates, and documentation supporting the genuine mileage of 66,542. Having spent a number of years in storage, the car has recently benefitted from recommissioning works costing over £3,000. The 4.3-litre V8 has also received the sought-after 'Big Valve' conversion—a popular upgrade among enthusiasts.

The Model:

Introduced in 1992 and intended as a more touring-oriented alternative to the TVR Griffith, the Chimaera offered a blend of comfort and exhilarating performance. Built on a backbone chassis and powered by Rover V8 engines, the 4.3-litre version produced 280 BHP—capable of 0–60 mph in just 4.6 seconds and a top speed of 158 mph. Its open-top layout, spacious cockpit and distinct styling made it one of TVR’s most successful models. The Chimaera was succeeded by the Tamora in 2002.
