This 1982 Yamaha XJ750 Seca is a striking example of Yamaha’s 1980s engineering, finished in Red with a Black seat. Perfectly showcased after a lockdown restoration.
Manufactured in 1982 and registered in the UK in 1987, this Seca has been under The Vendor’s ownership for the past year. Restored between 2020 and 2021, this bike has seen a full mechanical and cosmetic rebuild. Unfortunatley there is a lack of paperwork with the bike so it is presented as seen.
The XJ750 Seca (1982–85) was ahead of its time, blending sport-touring prowess with innovative engineering. It featured a 748 cc inline-four engine, robust double‑cradle frame, and the low-maintenance advantages of a shaft drive. Notably, Yamaha was among the first to fit anti-dive front suspension—activated by brake pressure to limit front-end dive under hard braking. The Seca also boasted dual front discs, optional touring accessories like fairings and luggage and an advanced instrument panel complete with warning lights and LCD readouts to monitor vital systems. Widely praised for its smooth gearbox, comfortable ride, and cruising capability, it remains a reliable choice for modern riders.
With a full restoration in recent years it represents a ready-to-ride piece of Yamaha history.
