A superb example of the now very rare and increasingly desirable Vauxhall Nova SR, this 1989 model is finished in White with Red SR trim lines and Grey cloth interior. Remaining in tidy, unrestored condition, it proudly retains all of its original factory features — including original vinyl, wheel trims, Phillips tape deck and even the rubber floor mats. A genuine, honest survivor that presents exceptionally well for its age.
With just two former keepers prior to The Vendor’s 12-year ownership, this Nova SR was originally supplied by Westway Garage Vauxhall in Bournemouth and later resupplied by Grand Parade Vauxhall, also in Bournemouth. It comes with an excellent history file, including MOT certificates dating back to 1992, numerous old tax discs and various invoices. The original Vauxhall Literature Pack is present and complete, containing the Audio Manual, Operation & Safety Manual, Service Location Map and stamped Service Record. The car has been diligently maintained over the years, with its original Vauxhall Service Record showing 14 stamps ranging from 8,672 miles in 1989 through to 30,640 (130,640) miles in 2025. Invoices for general maintenance are included in the history file, confirming ongoing care and mechanical attention throughout its life.
Launched as the sportier sibling in the Nova range, the SR was a “warm hatch” of the era, offering a punchy 1.3-litre engine producing around 71bhp. It featured sporty styling, a three-spoke steering wheel, sports seats and nimble handling that made it a favourite among younger drivers. Performance figures of 0–62 mph in around 10 seconds and a top speed of roughly 103 mph were respectable at the time and today the SR enjoys a strong following among 1980s and 1990s car enthusiasts.
Offered from long-term enthusiast ownership and in unmodified, factory-correct condition, this Vauxhall Nova SR is a standout survivor in a dwindling pool of original cars. With low ownership, a comprehensive history and all the right period details, it represents a rare opportunity to own one of the true cult classics of its era — ideal for collectors and usable enough to enjoy on the road.
