A superb example of the first-generation Ford Mustang, presented in Amparo Blue Metallic with White stripes over a Blue and White leather interior. This Mustang has been a show-stopper in the South West classic car scene.
Imported into the UK in 2006, this Mustang has had just one former UK keeper before passing into the hands of The Vendor, who has cherished it for the last 18 years. During this time, it has enjoyed success on the show circuit, collecting multiple commendations across Devon and Cornwall, including 'Best in Class' at the Paignton Riviera Classic Car Show in 2016. In The Vendor’s 18-year custodianship, the car has benefitted from thoughtful and practical upgrades to enhance both drivability and usability. These include the fitment of power-assisted steering, front disc brakes, a discreet smart battery charger under the bonnet to maintain charge during periods of low use, and a cleverly integrated DAB radio hidden within the glove compartment to control the original dashboard radio. The car has seen very light recent use, covering just 27 miles in the last 12 months. A comprehensive history file accompanies the car, including MOT certificates, invoices for servicing and maintenance and a full record of works carried out since 2007.
Ford’s first-generation Mustang, produced between 1964 and 1973, became an instant icon, launching the “pony car” segment with its long-hood, short-deck proportions and broad appeal. By 1967, the Mustang had undergone its first major redesign, making room for larger engines and improved safety features. The 1968 model year introduced side markers, an energy-absorbing steering wheel and shoulder belts, while also offering the new 302 cu in (4.9 L) small-block V8 option.
With its long-term ownership, upgrades, attractive presentation and proven show pedigree, this 1968 Ford Mustang 302 represents a wonderful opportunity to acquire a highly usable American classic. Well-documented and evidently cherished, it is ready to be enjoyed both on the road and at shows.
