A low mileage example of Mercedes-Benz’s stylish compact sports car, this SLK 230 Kompressor is finished in Brilliant Silver with a contrasting Black leather interior. Now showing signs of cosmetic wear both inside and out, the car would benefit from some sympathetic TLC to return it to its best.
Owned by The Vendor for the past two years, this SLK has had just three former keepers. Accompanied by a collection of invoices and the complete, original Mercedes-Benz book pack, which includes the Interior Owner’s Manual, Technical Data Owner’s Manual, Driving Owner’s Manual, Exterior Owner’s Manual, UK Dealership Directory, and Service Book. The Service Book contains five stamps for maintenance carried out between 2001 at 6,142 miles and 2010 at 21,887 miles. The odometer currently records a genuine 63,516 miles from new.
The Mercedes-Benz SLK-Class was introduced at the 1996 Turin Motor Show as a modern interpretation of the 1950s 190SL. Built in Bremen, the first-generation R170 SLK was produced from 1995 to 2004 and became instantly recognisable thanks to its clever folding metal roof. Powered here by the 2.3-litre inline-four "Kompressor" engine, this model produces 193 bhp, enabling 0–60 mph in 7.3 seconds and a top speed of 142 mph.
Offered as a low mileage example, this 1999 SLK 230 Kompressor represents an appealing entry point into classic Mercedes-Benz ownership. With some cosmetic attention, it has the potential to present very smartly while continuing to provide enjoyable, open-top motoring.
