The Model:

Launched in 1956, the Ford Zephyr Mk II formed part of Ford’s celebrated “Three Graces” range alongside the Consul and Zodiac. Powered by a robust 2,553cc overhead-valve straight-six engine producing around 86bhp, the Zephyr offered smooth performance, spacious accommodation and dependable engineering. The 1958 model belongs to the earlier “Highline” series, preceding the lower-roof “Lowline” cars introduced in 1959. With MacPherson strut front suspension, column-change manual transmission and attractive transatlantic styling cues, the Zephyr Mk II was a thoroughly modern and desirable family saloon in its day.
