Maintenance & Condition:

The car presents in beautiful condition throughout and appears to have been well cared for. The Vendor reports that the original 1,476cc side-valve engine has been replaced with an MGB 1800cc unit, while the original column-change arrangement has also been replaced with an MGB floor-change gearbox. These upgrades are understood to greatly enhance the car’s performance, usability and general driveability when compared with the standard MO specification.

The Model:

The Morris Oxford MO was introduced at the 1948 London Motor Show as Morris’s mid-sized post-war family saloon, sitting above the Minor and below the larger Morris Six. Designed under Alec Issigonis, it featured advanced unitary construction, rounded all-steel bodywork, rack-and-pinion steering and hydraulic drum brakes. In original form, the MO was powered by a 1,476cc side-valve four-cylinder engine with a column-mounted manual gearbox, providing dependable family transport with room for up to six occupants thanks to its front and rear bench seating.
