An absolutely fabulous example of the ever-desirable Jaguar Mk II 3.4, finished in Cream over a beautifully retrimmed Red leather interior. Owned by The Vendor for the last year, this home-market, right-hand drive example presents as highly attractive and very well-restored.

Maintenance & Condition:

The car is understood to have benefitted from a full nut-and-bolt rebuild and restoration around five years ago, with the majority of the work undertaken by Haynes Heritage Engineering. Works included a bare-metal respray, full engine rebuild, complete front suspension rebuild, new wiring loom, new chrome work and the fitment of a full stainless steel exhaust system. More recently, the vehicle has been further improved with new wheel bearings, chrome wire wheels with new hubs, a CD player/radio, electric power steering, fully restored woodwork, retrimmed seats and renewed door cards. The result is a beautifully presented Mk II that combines period charm with a few sympathetic upgrades for improved usability.

History:

Accompanied by a great level of history, including a Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate confirming it to be a home-market RHD example, originally supplied by Henlys of London in 1963. The history file also contains a large number of invoices for parts and restorative work, old MOT certificates, tax discs and a guide relating to the electronic power steering system.

The Model:

The Jaguar Mk II is one of the most iconic British sports saloons of the 1960s. Produced between 1959 and 1967, it combined the grace and luxury expected of Jaguar with genuine sporting performance. This example is powered by the celebrated 3.4-litre XK straight-six engine, producing a quoted 210bhp, the Mk II offered impressive touring pace, a sumptuous leather-and-wood cabin and advanced all-round disc brakes. The 3.4-litre variant is often considered the sweet spot of the Mk II range, offering much of the performance and character of the 3.8 while generally representing better value in the classic market.
