A wonderfully period example of Ford's flagship Cortina, this 1982 Ford Cortina Ghia 4-door Saloon is finished in an attractive Champagne Gold Metallic over a complementary Brown and Beige interior. As a final-year Mk5 Ghia, it represents one of the most comprehensively appointed versions of the Cortina before the model was replaced by the Sierra. Period auxiliary driving lamps, alloy wheels and its distinctive Ghia detailing complete the classic early-1980s appearance.

Maintenance & Condition:

The history file demonstrates regular servicing and maintenance over many years, with invoices and records dating from 2000 through to 2021 showing continued attention to keeping the car roadworthy. The Vendor reports that it continues to run and drive well, although the automatic choke has been disabled and it can consequently take a little longer to start from cold, something prospective buyers should bear in mind with a vehicle of this age. Its most recent MOT was completed in 2022, with the car becoming eligible for historic vehicle MOT exemption from 2023.

History:

A particularly pleasing aspect of this Cortina is its accompanying paperwork. The file includes a substantial collection of MOT certificates dating from 1996 to 2019, together with old tax discs, the original Operation and Care booklet, UK dealer guide and period information relating to the fitted Pioneer radio.
